Immigration Raises Filing Fees


The Federal government is raising the filing fees for many applications starting next week. The fees for such applications as citizenship and the application for a green card will rise dramatically. The total cost for filing an application for citizenship will rise from $725 to $1200. The present fee to application for a adjustment to permanent residence is $1225 which includes a work permit and advance parole. To apply for all for those applications now the fee is $2,300.


The Immigration Office formally know as the office of Citizenship and Immigration Services

( USCIS) is unique among government programs in that it is designed to be self funding.

Applications post marked on October 1'st will not be subject to the fee increase.
