Trump to Suspend Visas

January 26, 2017

President Trump has been in office for just a few days, and already, his administration has been making sweeping policy changes to legislation. Now, according to Reuters, “several congressional aides and immigration experts briefed on the matter” say that Trump will sign executive orders restricting immigration this Thursday.

The restrictions will reportedly restrict U.S. access for “refugees and some visa holders from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen,” the experts told Reuters.

CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem also tweeted that the Department of Homeland Security is considering “ending Syrian refugee program and a suspension of Muslim majority country visas,” adding that the DHS “was also asked to determine whether ending entire refugee program [is] doable.”
